Our story
Apoorva Shukla moved to Old Manali with one belief: that good food made honestly, with local hands and mountain ingredients, is the best thing you can offer a traveller. LiveHimalayas grew from that.
Everything here is made from scratch — organic, local, and free of preservatives. The bread, the chai masala, the jam on the bun maska: nothing comes from a packet. The ingredients come from the valley, the farmers we know by name, and the kitchen garden behind the café.
LiveHimalayas is also a place to sleep. Four rooms, each built in the old Himachali village style, look out over the Kullu Valley at 2,050 m. They’re small, warm and quiet — the kind of stay that makes it hard to leave when your bus comes.
The café doesn’t chase scale. It chases quality, care and a reason for people in the valley to keep doing what they’ve always done: grow well, cook well, live at altitude.
